DIOMEDES STILL UNBEATEN Crack English Two -Year-Old Wins Hurst Park Stakes, His Sixth Straight Victory.. SPECIAL CABLEGRAM. LONDON, Eng., Nov. 15. Diomedes, bay son of Argos and Capadane, kept his racing record unblemished by beating three other previously unbeaten youngsters in the great Hurst Park Stakes this afternoon. Prompt was second and Loddington saved third from Zionist, which had been considered the best colt of the year. Priory Park, the only other starter, was a trailer. Diomedes was a present to Sydney Beer, his extremely youthful owner, from the young mans mother, who purchased the colt for 7,500 from trainer Leader. The latter had purchased the colt at the Dublin yearling sales last year for ,C00. Todays victory was the sixth straight for Diomedes. All five starters in the race carried 110 pounds. Zionist was a slight favorite over Diomedes. Diomedes won comfortably by two and a half lengths. Only two horses started in the Great Three-Year-Old Stakes and Lord Astors St. Germans, ridden by Bullock, finished under stout restraint five lengths in front of Straitlace. He completed the mile and three-quarters and sixty-four yards of the race in 3 :26. Lord Derbys Spindrift, a three-year-old daughter of Chaucer and Rothesay Bay, won the Derby Cup Friday by a short head from Highbrow, with Cloudbank third. The filly carried only 93 pounds, which included a seven-pound penalty. Highbrow carried 118 pounds and Cloudbank 102. Twelve started in the race. The weather was misty and the going extremely heavy. Spindrift and Highbrow fought it out desperately through the last eighth and the filly managed to hang on long enough to win by a short head. Cloudbank was a length and a half further back. Spindrift carried Lord Astors second colors and was quoted at 10 to 1. Highbrow was favorite at 9 to 4 and Cloudbank was at 10 to 1.
