BONNIE OMAR FIRST Wins Shenandoah Handicap, Feature of Tuesdays Racing. Plough Boy and Setting Sun Finish Second and Third, Respectively, After Mishap. BOWIE, Md., Nov. 25. The Shenandoah Handicap, which was offered as the feature attraction for this afternoons card, resulted in a victory for B. Reuges Bonnie Omar in a hard drive from the Joaquin Stables Plough Boy, while E. K. Brysons Setting Sun wsjs third. The race was at a mile and a sixteenth and completed a double for the Reuge stable. The race was marred by a poor start, in which Plough Boy and Setting Sun were caught in the webbing as the barrier rose. I T. Burns, astride Bonnie Omar, rushed him to the front rounding the first turn and the colt, after drawing into a safe lead, was taken under restraint. Oppsrman was racing after him, while Plough Boy was close up. Through the rear stretch Bonnie Omar continued to show the way, while Plough Boy dropped back and Setting Sun moved into contention. Rounding the stretch turn Bonnie Omar came a trifle wide, while Setting Sun moved to the outside and Plough Boy slipped through next to the inside rail. Wam-pee and Prince Hamlet were close up at this stage and -Opperman dropped back to last place. Through the final eighth Bonnie Omar was tiring fast and at the end just lasted to outstay Plough Boy, which finished fast and gaining. The winner was a neglected factor and netted a large return. Racing conditions showed improvement this afternoon and a notable increase in the attendance was in evidence. The track dried out rapidly. SENOR IN CLOSING STRIDES. The Terminal Purse, which was at six and a half furlongs, resulted in a stirring finish, in which B. Reuges Senor got up in the closing strides to beat Volante, while Flagship was third; The winner was ridden by T: Burns, and was a forward factor throughout The start was a good one and Pettibocker and Sandhurst were the ones to cut out the early running while Volante was racing along the inside rail. Turning for home Burns elected to come to the outside and Volante hugged the inner rail. Closing under severe punishment through the stretch, Senor gained steadily and it was just in the final strides that he outgamcd Vojante. Flagship shovrcd a good performance to be third. Campfire Tales and Bruns finshed stoutly through the stretch and the effort showed by Bruns was a thoroughly good one, when, from a slow beginning, he closed an immense gap. E. J. Morrows Note o Love was winner of the first race of the afternoon, which engaged a band of thirteen two-year-olds that raced at three-quarters. Ivory was the one to finish second, while Night Shade was third. The winner drew into the lead at the stretch and, showing high -speed throughout, stood off determined opposition from Ivory, but through the final eighth Renzetti kept her under pressure to maintain her advantage. Night. Shade, after racing forwardly throughout, was a good third. AMOR PATRIAE NARROWLY. The Everglades Claiming Handicap, at six and a half furlongs, resuled in a victorv for the faint-hearted Amor Patriae by a narrow margin. James Arthurs Leonard G. raced to second place, while Edward Arlingtons Barney Google was third. Amor Patriae was away quickly, and was rushed to a safe lfead and " held sway thereafter, although tiring badly through the final eighth. Leonard : G., after racing oil - the. outside for the greater part of the way, came with a rush -at tha end, and was wearing the winner down, while Barney Google just lasted to outstay Maclean. The latter raced on the inside all the way. Amor Patriae was accorded sout support in the wagering and the victory proved a popular one. Maxie, ridden by jockey H. Howard, and racing for the Triple Springs Farm, got up in the closing strides to account for the fifth race, at a mile and seventy yards in a hard drive from Intrepid, while Eagerness was third. The winner followed the pace closely and when turning for home was taken very wide. He closed witli a rush in the final eighth and was up in the closing strides. Intrepid ran well all the way and held on gamely at the end. Eagerness showed a good performance from the start. Carlton was the one to cut out the early running and after showing the way to the stretch, gave way to Quotation.
