Big Winners of 1924 AUDLEY FARM STABLE. Montfort and B. B. Jones. - Princess Doreen, the superb filly by Spanish rrin.ee II. Liidy Dorcen, is another example of what one good horse means to a stable. It was because of the prowess of this speedy filly that the Audley Farm Stable- cf ilontfort and B. B. Jones figured as importantly as it did in the racing of 1924. Chiefly because of Princess Dorecns victories throughout the year the Audley Farm Stable Went into winter quarters with a record of thirty-nine winning races and ?9S,232 in money won. Princess Doreen Avon eight races and 1,370, while the other thirty-six horses of the establishment accounted for the remainder, the following tabulation disclosing how much each one contributed to the earnings for 1921: Horse. Headley, the Kentucky breeder and turfman, won a total of ,93S in stakes and purses during 1924. His racing Stable numbere.d tw.enty-t.wo horses, . .with the noble mare, Chacolet, at the head and the largest winner. She won ?31,S90 and had not injuries forced her into retirement, with many valuable engagements unfilled the prospects are that the stable winnings for the year would have been greatly augmented. Chaeolets greatest feat this year was her victory in the Dixie Stakes, one of the famous races of the early days of the turf in Maryland and which was revived by the Maryland Jockey Club and had its first renewal last spring at Pimlico. Other good winners in the Headley stable were Rural Route, Almadel and Hopeless. The complete record of the II. P. Headley horses for 1921 follows : Horse Col.SexAge Pedigree , 1st. 2d. 3d. Amt. Burton of Chicago was the real owner cf the colt and that J. S. Ward, under whose name AVise Counsellor was raced, was a partner in the establishment that included sixteen other horses. While Wise" Counsellor did not win the Derby, the colt going wrong prior to the Preakness, for which he was also eligible, he showed his real quality later in the year, his most notable achievement being his victory in the first of the International Specials, . in which he defeated the French champion, Kpinard, at Belmont Park.
