VERA VENNIES BACK BROKEN XEAV OPvLEANS, La., Dec. 20. Vera Vennie, one of the horses that Avent down in the mix-up in the second race Friday, sustained a broken back and had to he destroyed. She was a three-year-old by Colonel Vennie Trick Wing, and was the property 1 of Jefferson Livingston, Avho bred her.
