STABLES FOR MIAMI TRACK New Orleans Racing to Lose One Hundred or More Horses Exodus Begins Jan. 1. NEW ORLEANS, La., Dec. 29. The present week will be marked by the departure of a number of stables, with Miami as their destination. The exodus began today, when a number of small establishments took their leave, but the majority will not go until after Jefferson Parle closes. It is estimated that approximately one hundred horses will be included in the exodus. They can easily be spared, and it would not injure the local game were two hundred more to leave. It is freely recognized that there are altogether too many horses here for the limited opportunities for winning purses. Included in the stable3 going to the new Florida course arc M. F. Shapoff, O. 13. Pons, T. W. Hemingway, II. G. Bedwell, J. B. McGinn. T. Sanford, J. A. Coburn. W. II. Fizer, C. R. Allen, J. McGee and J. R Alexander. W. J. Potter and C. Houbre had arranged to shjp also, but later rearranged their plans. A half-dozen jockeys will make the trip to Miami to try their luck. J. OBrien will go with the M. F. Shapoff stable, while II. J. Stevens will go with the stable of II. G. liedwell.
