INTEREST IN CHESAPEAKE ♦ Havre de Grace Three -Year-Old Fixture a Preakness Trial. Leading Candidates for Pimlico Rich Race Included Among Fifty-Two Eligibles for Stake. HAVRE DE GRACE, Md., April 19— None of the stake features of the present meeting has attracted more attention than the 0,000 Chesapeake, for three-year-olds, to be run on the closing day, April 29. The Chesapeake has grown in importance year by year of late until now it is looked upon as a real preliminary for the Preakness. Few of the leading candidates for the rich Pimlico fixture are missing from the roster of Chesapeake eligibles and a particularly strong field is expected to be drawn from the list of fifty-two nominations. H. P. Whitney is making a strong bid for the event with nine nominations, more than twice as many as have been named by any other owner. List of Eligibles.
