Five-eighths from the finish Weston sent Spithead into the lead and he retained his : advantage to the finish, although Daimyo,! hard ridden by Bulloek, finished fast and forced the leader to a drive to win by half a length. Invercauld was six lengths farther back. Regal Toy, by Achtoi from John Hertzs I mare. La Dauphine, won the Dee Welter Handicap at three-quarters at Chester, to-i day, by three lengths.
