Won driving; second and third the same. FORETELL took the lead at once and, setting a fast pace, held it resolutely in the stretch drive. ZEPPELIN made up ground after rounding the far turn and, coming fast and gamely through the last quarter, was gradually wearing the winner down. SHAMPOO was close up for the entire race and saved ground on all the turns. CHOCOLATE SOLDIER was hard ridden for the entire race. MISS THATCHER ran well. URSA MAJOR began from the extreme outside and had to be ridden hard to get to the lead and runs like a colt inclined to loaf, but won going away. HOT PEPPER came next to the rail after rounding the far turn and when entering the home stretch, finished fast. LANARK came again under hard riding and finished resolutely. SENATOR NORRIS set a fast pace from the ■tart and raced into a long lead on the back stretch, but tired badly in the last eighth. DIGIT began well but was outpaced in the early stages, then moved up in the stretch, but was in back of the leader and was forced to be taken up in an attempt to go to the outside. REPARATION was sore when going to the post. ST. VALENTINE and GENERAL THATCHER finished fast. Scratched — 891S3JGoldpiece, 105; £9052 = Donnelly, 101. Overweight Brice, 1 pound. HEELTAPS worked her way up on the outside in the first quarter and passed REDSTONE and KNIGHT OF MERCI II., into the lead on the last turn, but her weight told on her at the end and she tired. CAMPFIKE TALES closed a big gap and finished with a rush. SEA SAND tired after making a challenge at the head of the home stretch. REDSTONE set the early i ace. but quit badly. SARKO tired.
