PIMLICOS GRAND MEETING 1 Imposing Total of 49,490 Distributed During Eleven Days. — I G. A. Cochran and Fair Stable Blgrest Winners MMiMM of Coventry and Sarazeas Victories in tin- Preakness and Dixie. The Maryland Jockey Club distributed the imposing sum of hB49,490 in stakes and pvtM during the Pimlico spring meeting of • leven j days, which was inaugurated May 1 and , ram. to an end May 13. There were seventy- I seven races run and the daily average dis- I tribution reached the high figure of J22.GS0. In every way the meeting was a tremendous success. 1 1. A. Cochran won the richest offering of the meeting when Coventry annexed the Preakness Stak- s and as a result tops the list of money winning owners. The second most valuable event, the Dixie Handicap, fell to the Fair Stable, the great Sarazen winning that historical race. Other owners who figured importantly during the meeting u.re W. .7. Salnnm. H. P. Whitney, A. C. Bostwick. R. T. Wilson, Nevada Stock Farm Stable, H. G. Bedwell and Glen Riddle Farm Stable. Coventry and Sarazen. because of their success in the Preakness and Dixie respectively. as mentioned above, top the money winning horses. Other substantial winners among the j horses were Rack Man, Senalado General 1 Thatcher. Spot Cash and Wise Counsellor. K. Barnes and A.
