, j SANDE MAY RIDE QUATRAIN Famous Rider Dickering with Breuning for Mount on the Favorite in the Derby. LOUISVILLE, Ky.. May 14— Although Jockey B. Brcuning has been engaged to ride Quatrain, there is a good prospect that Karl Sande will have the mount. The latter has offered Brcuning $,000 to let him ride the Derby favorite and additionally Brcuning would receive j.-,. "in if th.- colt won. tenter Johnson is not trying to make the change in riders. He is satisfied that Brcuning will handle his horse capably He does, however. feed that Sande would be the more valuable asset on his horse in a tight pinch or in the big field. He baa allowed Sande to dicker with Brcuning on the condition that I.r.un-ing is satisfied with the nrrang -merits. Should Sand. prevail on Brcuning to Id him bare the mount financial arrangements will then be discussed with owner Johnson. The latter has not informed Sande what he would give him for winning the race. A decision on the two riders will be reached tonight, with the chalices favoring Sande to •ic Quatrain.
