Ont.. May 15.— Two outstanding turf champions are among the entries for the 0,000 Toronto Cup. one of the fea-i ture events of the Ontario Jockey dubs [spring meeting to be held at the Woodbine fark from May 23 to 30. They are Sarazen and Hallucination. The former is entered by the Fair Stable, the nom de course of Mrs. W. K. Vanderbilt, and the other by the Canadian stable of Com. J. K. L.. IToss, of Montreal. Sarazen was the acknowledged champion of America when he went into winter quarters last fall. This spring he showed his great class by carrying 130 pounds to victory in the Dixie Handicap at Pimlico on May 1. On that occasion he was ridden by Karl Sande, and if trainer Max Hirsch finally decides to send Sarazen after the Toronto Cup. it is likely that the champion jockey will | MMM to Woodbine Park to ride him. Hallucination is one of the bst horses jbred in Canada since the days of Mr. Sea- grams Inferno, and showed his championship Utilities last summer at Hamilton and in the autumn at Woodbine Park by beating all comers in the big Canadian stake events. Hallucination wintered at Louisville, and like tlie other horses in the Ross string had a slight sickness, following some leg trouble, but since coming to Woodbine Park has shown all his old-time speed and spirit. Trainer Henry McDaniel expects to have him fit and ready on race day. OTHER RACK RACERS NAMED. Kven if the champions were eliminated the nominations for the Toronto Cup, which number no less than fifty-five, give assurance of a wonderful race, with plenty of class. Many of the horses have been to the races already this year, and quite a few have earned brackets. A well-balanced and large field is expected from such well-known performers as A. C. Hostwirks Spot Cash, a great favorite on the Canadian circuit; Senator Xorris. from the 1 It dwell stable; J. W. Foremans Prince Tii Tii, a winner this year; the Greontree Stables great pair, Loopardtss and Cherry Pie, which have been showing splendid form this spring ; Hal Price Headleys Almadel, which ran third to Coventry in the rich Preakness Stakes last Friday at Pimliro ; K. K. Hrysons Setting Sun and Moon Magic; the Nevada Stock Farm Stables General Thatcher; It. T. Wilson Senalado and Wilderness; the Belair Stud Stables Aga Khan and Flames; H. Watersons Brainstorm and the best of H. P. Whitneys sextette, which may be sent from New York. The Canadian stables will not be outclassed by the visitors by any means. The Ross colors will be carried by Golden Rule as well as Hallucination, while the Seagram Stable, fresh from a series of victories in Maryland, will be well represented by the best pair of the following: l igit, Redstone, Edisto. Sarazen is not entered in the King Kdward Cold Cup race, but there are fifty-four nominations, including many horses that have won this year. The French horse, Phusla, owned by the Mira Monte Stock Farm Stable, Is entered in both events and will be sent here if he recovers from his temporary disability. Nominations for Two Stakes.
