RENO ANNOUNCES MEETING To Give Thirty Days Racing Beginning July 1 — Names of Officials in Charge of Sport. RENO. Nev.. May 29.— The state of Nevada, which lost a year of racing in 19J4 as a result of the foot and mouth disease, which caused the authorities to place an embargo on livestock coming in or out of the state, will have a resumption of the sport this year in the shape of a thirty-day meeting, to be ushered in July 1. The Reno meeting, with mutuel wagering, will be under the direction of J. P. Atkin, who deferred a visit to England to give at the request of George Wingfield the forthcoming meeting. Western owners who sought a place to keep busy part of the summer months also joined in this request. At the present time there are already over 150 horses occupying stalls at the Reno plant and these will be added to by OalifomHns who have been resting up their stock on various western farms. Among these that will soon be Reno bound are J. H. Rosseter, C. A. Hartwell. Major Christensen, T. Horning. Millerick Bros., George Van Gordon, A. Neal and II. James. Many stables now at Omaha have reserved sable room and will ship West after the completion of the Omaha meeting, which is June 27. ] Tins have been made to ship these horses west in a special train. The officials named for the Reno meeting are Lee J. Ro.se, presiding judge; A. N. Salisbury, associate judge; George W. Schilling, associate judge and racing secretary; James Donovan, starter; Samuel Rothert, clerk of the scales, and D. Hay man, paddock judge.
