YOUNGSTOWN OPENS JUNE 3 Over 0,000 to Be Distributed in Purses During Sixteen-Day Spring Meeting. TOINGSTOWN. Ohio, May 29.— Over 0,000 in purses will be distributed among horsti owners during the sixteen-day meeting of the Southern Park Racing Company, which is scheduled to open here Wednesday, June 3, according to the program book recently issued. As a result of the liberal offering, horsemen throughout this section of the country are displaying keen interest in the coming meeting, and Harry Eyster general manager of the Southern* Park course reports that practically all of the available stabling room has been reserved. In addition to the thoroughbreds already quartered on the grounds, which have been shipped here from various points, word haa l e n received that two special express traina have been chartered to transport several hundred head here from Wheeling, West Virginia, on Monday. June 1. Among the jockeys that will also come from the West Virginia course are C. B. Allen. E. Carpenter, C. Eames, J. Polin, P. Woodstock, A. Anderson. P. Madeira, A. Roach, P. Powers, T. Ruel, T. OHara, T. Thrailkill, J. Ryrne, C. Jackson. H. Callahan. C. Kasserola, R. Steele and A. McDonald.
