OTTAWAS GREATEST DAY Seagram Stable Wins Both Features With Edisto and Digit ā€” Fast Time Mailis Racing. OTTAWA, Ont., June Cā€” Today was the banner day of the Connaught Park Jockey Club meeting. Racing conditions were perfect and for the first day since the meeting opened a fast track was in order. The card was a good one, the Chateau Laurier Handicap of ,500 added, at a mile and seventy yards, and the Hillside Handicap, 51,000 added, at five and a half furlongs, being the feature events. Both brought out good fields, the best horses on the grounds going to the post in these races. The Seagram Stable furnished the winner of the Hillside Handicap in Kdisto, which beat Mainmast by a couple of lengths. Kdisto showed a high flight of speed from the start and won going away. The five and a half furlongs were run in lSs, cutting four-fifths of a second off the old track record for the distance. Just to make it a good day for the Seagram establishment Digit came back in the Chateau I aurier Handicap and beat the heavily backed favorite Joy Smoke by half a length in a driving finish. In the last sixteenth I igit finished wilh a rush and won going away at the end. The winner equal. -d the track record for the distance when he ran the mile ar.d seventy yards in 1:43%.
