RACING OVER HEAVY TRACK Mondays Sport at Omaha Marred By Difficult Course — Riding of V. Wallis the Feature. OMAHA, Neb.. June 15. — Tho cessation of the heavy rains of Saturday and Sunday brought about changed track conditions and the thoroughbreds that racd for the purses at Ak-Sar-Ben field today showed their speed over a course that was heavy and holdinR. It was deepest next to the inner rail arid the wise jockeys guided a wide course in search of the best going. Kven at that it took a horse of stout heart to negotiate the goini? ; which prevailed and it was apparent that even the winners finished tired and jaded. The outstanding feature of the sport here today, was the clever saddle form shown by jockey V. Wallis. He rode a couple of winners, scoring with the long shot Faithful Girl and Little Hope. Those horses successful in the second and third events paid better than six and ten to one. respectively. Favorite players had a rough journey during the day as the majority of the winners were horses that paid liberal prices. Miss LrOighton made every post a winning one in the opener, a dash of five and one-half furlongs and at the end showed a three length advantage over Fernandos and Ponza Ray. Brass Band was played almost to the exclusion of all others in the fifth but failed to finish in the money, the three outsiders. Menage, Brandeis and Josie M., finishing in the order named.
