BEG PARDON TO THE FORE Outlasts French Canadian and Bill McCloy in Best Contest of Tuesdays Card at Brooklyn CLEVELAND. Ohio. June 1G. — A series of claiming races made up the card at Brooklyn Park this afternoon. One of the best fields measured strides in the fifth, which was productive of the best finish of the day. The winner turned up in F. Tryons Beg Pardon which with Hill McCloy contested the leadership closely to the stretch. French Canadian then joined in the struggle for supremacy and the trio fought it out reaching the end closely bunched. French Canadian eventually beat Bill McCloy by a narrow margin for second place and Beg Pardon had little to spare at the end. Following the rain of yesterday the gointr was heavy next to the inner rail but dried out well in the middle of the track. As a result most of the horses raced wide in search of the better footing. The weather was cool but pleasant. Roy Coverts Nervous Abie scored his second success of the present meeting when he accounted for the opening dash in handy style. After racing Paula into defeat in the first half mile Satana had to be shaken up to stall off Red Mill near the end of the second race. Plaid showed the way to the stretch in the third event with Redskin close up. Taking command after going the first quarter of the fourth race Copyright never relinquished the lead. Racing prominently throughout Pave Goldie came again in the stretch and headed Bright Idea in the final stride of the concluding race. Stuart Polk shipped his string to Aurora this afternoon. Charles Primrose, a representative of the Utah Racing Association at Salt Rake City, was a visitor making an effort to induce horsemen to ship to the meeting in the western city.
