THOMAS CURRAN AT LATONIA Following the close of the session of the i Illinois Legislature which failed to pass the proposed parimutuel racing bill Representa ¬ tive Thomas Curran sponsor of the bill and acknowledged floor leader for Governor Small left for Latonia where he arrived yesterday with his family He was accom ¬ panied by Fred E Erickson chief Tax Com ¬ mission for the state stateCurran Curran who also directed the plans of the Illinois Jockey Club before leaving for a I two weeks vacation declared the Race Bill failed because of overconfidence on the part of its friends He also declared that the fight was not in vain as it is the first time in over twenty years a record vote was obtained so that turf followers were able to learn just where they stand on legislation
