Tin-hay son of North Star III. — Haute Itocbe negotiated the journey in 1 :4f *s, well in hand throughout. Kor the first three-quarters he was accompanied by his stahlematc. The colt pulled up without taking j a long breath and the work was a pleasing one to his trainer, and sent his s ock up in j the estimation of those that witnessed the; work. Through the first part of the mile he faced a cold high wind, but it did not ■ seem to affect his running. Pompey. the much talked of Shoshone J Stable star, was brought out on the main track by trainer Karrick a few minutes after eight oclock. Mr. Karrick intended sending the colt a mile in about 1:52. Iompey was1 galloping over towards the mile post as a snow storm, which quickly turned to sleet. descended. Iompey was taken under stout ] restraint and galloped over the mile in 1 :" 7.
