j | DENY HAWTHORNE RUMORS No Dates Agreed Upon for Meeting at Cicero Course — Stockholders to Meet Soon. "No racing dates have heen agreed upon for Hawthorne." said Joseph A. Murphy. before leaving for Columhus, Ohio, where be will serve as steward at Beulafa Iark. the meeting at which place opens Saturday. The presence of judge Murphy in Chicago at this time had given rise to rumors that a meeting of those interested in the Hawthorne track had been held and that it was de ided to open the hero course on Jane 20 and continue for nineteen days. "Any statement concerning the racing at Hawthorne the coming summer." said judge Murphy, "except that we will race and that we will operate under the oral system, are without any authority from anyone. "Within the next ten days a sanrting; of the stockholders will he called and the association reorganized with new officers and directors drawn from representative business men of the city who may he now. or will he before that time, stockholders. The new-president, whoever he may he. will at the proper time name the dates of raring, the officials who will preside and the purse distribution and policy of the association Intil that time any statements in respect to the racing will he mere rumors."
