Dick Welles Selections At Havre De Grace WANDKBINt; ■■■■■ ■■■■■■■ JOAX — THRKK IIS. WANDKBINC TIMKS raced fairly well over the Miami course and is now gradually working: up to that form again. Her two races at Bowie indicated that she was just a little short. Her recent workouts have been good ones and she should now be ready to step out in front and make every post a winning one. THERESA JOAN showed a flash of BfMal in one of her Bowie race* when she finished third to Sw-eeping Ann and Victrix. This daughter of Oonnacona has had so many good things said about her that she i.s a hard one to pass up in figuring the probable winner. A race to her trials would find her close up at the finish. THBEE DS raced consistently at Tampa when she finished second or third in her last four starts. If she runs as kindly over this track she could take down the short end of the purse. MISS ROSF.DALE— l.KATHERWOOD— JOHN XT CAMPBELL MISS ROSKDALE gets a three-pound pull in the weights, while Ieatherwood picks up three pounds. It is doubtful if the latter can give MISS ROSED ALE six pounds and another beating, such as happened on the occasion of their last meeting. The J. V. Lewis mare is in top form at the present and looks the best in this race, with the exception of LEATHER WOOD. As stated above, it looks like all MISS ROSEDALE. JOHNNY CAMPBELL won his last race at Bowie before being shipped here, then continued on his triumphant way and scored a nose victory over a large field. He is surf of landing in the money if he would run back to either one of his last two races. FORELAND— SWEET ISVER— LIFF. Iarge fields have been the rule in most of the races here to date, and todays third race is no exception. The most likely winner here appears to be FORELAND, from the stable of H. I !. Bedwell. The latter has the son of Foreground in excellent condition at present and all he has to do to win is to repeat the effort of his last out. In that race he beat Lord Baltimore II. and Tempest rather handily after getting away none to well. SWEET INVER figures to be closest to the winner at the finish, basing on her trials. Her last two races at Miami were good ones too when she finished first and second. CLIFF does not show so well on past performances but they have to be thrown out at the present. She has been showing plenty of speed in her morning trials and has bren doing it In a most convincing manner. A race to those works would find her a bang-up contender. BEATRICE ■•■■■ ■»■■!■■ IHIIfl The baby racers are to show there wares in the fourth number on the card and a good contest should result. The speedy BEATRICE NOTES is entered and looks like the most probable winner, in fact, she dopes as the best play of the day. Her last race was in the Aberdeen Stakes, won by Club Steak. In that running she got off poorly and never had a chance to get up in the first flight. It was a large field that went to the post for the race and for that reason excuses can l e found for her. In her race previous to the above mentioned, she merely toyed with her opponents to be home an easy winner by three lengths. With her inside pest position today look for her to run back to that race. DEXTER and ClAFA dope to be closest to the winner at the finish with the formers chances appearing the best. ; WAB MAN— FAENZA— DATSONU FOOL. Ilaters of the better class meet in the fifth rae-e, and War Man looks to have the best chance of winning. He ran a good third his last out and at the end was only beaten less than a length. FAENZA will very likely cause the winner all kinds of trouble. His last out proved an easy win for him over Eager and King of Fortune. DANCING I FOOL beat a fair band of platers in his last race at Bowie and carried 120 pounds at the time. Today he is scheduled to carry but 114 and this lesser weight should be of a help to him. He should be the one to take down third money for his stable. VHAY iABI.KS-BKOTHEBLY LOTE— TRY At; A IN. GRAY CABLES is going to meet some stiff oppositicn in the sixth but if he gets off well should In- the victorious one. He is more or less ■ bad post actor and many times his chances of winning are ruined while at the barrier. BBOTHERLY LOVE i.s the one most feared and should cop if CRAY GABLES cant succeed. He finished second to Duckling his last out and was going fast at the finish and was gradually wearing the winner down. TRY AGAIN was given up as a hopeless task by F. H. Smith and he gav;- j | him away but as soon as he came into the hands of his new trainer he proceeded to be . a winner, much to the chagrin of his former • owner. If he runs t;s kindly today could get the show money. KtSOVIA — BOX AN A— 1 1 K I.I NO. In the concluding race on the card RlS-OYIA is given the call over ROXANA and DlCKLINC. They are a bad lot that meet here and the winner i.s apt to come from [ any source. However. RISOVIA dopes to » be the winner. ROXANA has been going well of late and should be the one to land in i second place. DlCKLINC, scored an easy win her last out but she was in a measure ■ lucky, and dont think she can do it again.
