Dick Welles* Selections At Lexington ItlMBLING— McTIMvI.K— KODRIGO. In the first race, lUMRIJNG is Riven the call over Alt TINKLE and RODRIGO. She has had a nice rest since ihe*Fair Grounds meeting- and in her morning works turned in some fast moves. McTINKLE rates next to the daughter of Thunderer and undoubtedly will be the one to beat. He raced in improved form in his last start, over a previous race and should he show-any improvement today will prove dangerous. RODRIGO turned in a fine race in his last out. Should he run the same race today, would cause the winner plenty of trouble. SCSAN REBECCA will also have to be given consideration in the race. DOUBLE QUICK— HYDROMEL— KIXG BASIL. DOUBUC QUICK appears to be the best of those that will hook up in the second number. In her only start she finished a good third to 1 tolled Stocking and Torchilla. Not a bad performance for a first timer. On the strength of that showing we are looking for her to step down in front today. HYDROMEL has not shown anything In his two ract s at this course, but is reported fast. Ye are going to give him another chance and are placing him second. KINO BASILS races were such to suggest that he is going to prove a useful colt Think he can take care of the show money here. REGAL TOY— LADY LYNN— THE SPA. REGAL TOY has yet to win a race, an.l the spot he is in today looks made to order for him. He had a race Thursday,, and it should have done him much good. In that gallop he showed a brief flight of speed, was then passed, but came again at the end and was gradually narrowing the gap between him and the leaders. LADY LYNX does not call for much on past performances but may-bo good enough here to get the place if her trials count for anything. THE SUA looms as a real danger. His last out found him beaten a nose by Halu. If he were to put up the same brand of a race today think he could easily take care of the show end of the -■- purse. • J. G. DENNY— BALLOT BRUSH— SETHS ALIBI. The fourth should prove easy for J. Q. DENNY. He appears to have all the speed and the manner in which he won his last race was indicative that he is in good form at he present. When in the mood, this racer can hold his own with anv of them. BALLOT BRUSH will be making his first start of the year today and taking a line through his training moves, should be the runner-up. SETIUS ALIBI, a most consistent racer, is going to let the others know he is in the race and will take a hard beating. BROOMSTER is expected to do better today than in his last start. He may have needed that race for a tightener. ACCOMPLISH— TORCHILLA— GENERAL HAL DEM AN. ACCOMPLISH, the speedy daughter of Polym*lian, which races for C. Ie Roy King, stands out above the others entered for the Centennial Futurity. It is only natural that every effort will be made to have the honor of winning the coveted prize go to a Ken-tuckian. However, it looks now as though the race will be taken by an easterner. The above mentioned filly hung up an enviable record racing at Miami, winning five races in a row, although her last win only came after the two horses which finished in front of her were disqualified. Be that as it may, she looks much the best here. The main dependencies of the "Hard Boots" will be TORCHILLA and GENERAL HALDEMAN unless our calculations are all astray. Both colts were winners in their last starts and in each case it was an impressive victory. Of the others, THIRTEEN SIXTH looks to be the best. BOOKBINDER— PIGEON WING II.— BOB A HILL. We are picking BOOKBINDER to take down the purse in the sixth. His last race was anything but impressive, but we are throwing it out of the calculations, and basing on his Miami form — he should be able to score here. The menace in the race is G. F. Croissants Pigeon Wing II. The Kentucky Derby hope of the Chicago sportsman turned in a very creditable performance on the occasion of his last start and should he lace as well today, will be a hard one to beat. BOB CAHILL, the former Bradley racer, dopes to land in the three hole. He raced second to J. G. Denny in his first start here, and may be expected to improve over that effort. THE LEOPARD— ANDRY— PEGGY BLEDSOE. THE LEOPARD could not get going in his last race, but we are inclincel to believe that he didnt like the going. "With a return to fast track racing today, expect him to do much better. ANiiKY seemed to tire in his last race, but hung on long enough to get the small end of the purse. Look for him to be closer up today. PEGGY BLEDSOE ran far below her true form in her last out and can do much better. With good going prevailing, expect her to show to better advantage today. BOBBIE SHEAS last race was a good one and taking a line through that effort think he may cause the others some trouble. SPORTY 3IVGEE— FIRETOMA— DUSTY MARY. One of the best plays of the day is seen in SPORTY McGEE which meets up with nine other platers in the final race on the card. His last race indicated that he is not far off from a winning performance and with the company which opposes him here he should go well. FIRETOMA was decisively beaten in his last start but he should fare better today. The show appears to be between DUSTY MARY -and FAST MAIL with the former holding a slight edge. The latter won his last out, but dont think he can repeat that performance.
