— — WEST COAST JOCKEY CLUB Placed in Hands of Receivers — Tampa Track in a Bad Way Financially. TAMPA, Fla.. May 3.— T. J. Scully and J. 1. Holly have been appointed receivers for the West Coast Jockey Club by Judge L L. Parks of the circuit court. This action was taken on the petition of A. C. 1 lonore, local capitalist, who represents that he is owner of 0,000 worth of stock in the racing association. Scully is a stock holder and treasurer of the West Coast Jockey Club. Holly has been employed as auditor by the racing association. Honores petition for a receivership represented that Harvey Meyers, who recently resigned as president of the club had obtained a large block of stock in the organization and that T. C. Hammond who turned over the Md acres of land to the club; for the track and buildings, has received no ! compensation for the ground. Hammond] was to have received title to 400 acres of] other lands in exchange for the property Sfhich he turned over to the club, the peti- tion said. Unpaid bills against the association total , 29.M0.95, according to the petition, while deposits in hanks to the clubs credit are only $.!S,1»21.5.». All of these bank accounts have been garnisheed by creditors. More than twenty civil suits are pending against the West Coast Jockey Club at present.
