MISS EMERSON raced in closest pursuit and held second place safe. CAPTAIN BlRNS raced on the outside and made a game finish. BUT! CADDIE ran well. BLACK TOP made tip ground. The latter Ret the pace briefly, then raced close up to the stretch, but tired in the final drive. BBITISH I.INER fell slightly lame and was pulled up after going the first quarter.
