CROSSCO, OAKS PROSPECT Trainer and Horsemen at Churchill Downs Think Well of Chicago Sportsmans Filly. LOUISVILLK, K , April 7.— V. H. Blan-ton, the colored trainer in charge of the Wild Hose, Farm Stable of Val Crane, a wealthy Chicago sportsman, is well pleased with the progress being made by the filly Crossco in her training for the Kentucky Oaks, and many horsemen, who have watched her in her early gallops share Blan-tons opinion that she stands a royal chance to capture the stake. Crossco is a brown filly by Trevisco -Cross Bun, by Peter Pan, and is considered one of the best looking of her age and sex in local training. She showed enough in her two-year-old year to warrant the belief that she will develop into a really high-class three-year-old. The filly wintered well and is well advanced in her training. Recently she went three-quarters in 1 :20. galloping all the way. The other horses in Blantons charge are Cheval, Lost Lady. The Hovel, Attica and Kindred, all the property of Crane, and Queen of Allah and a two-year-old owned by Blanton. The youngster, which has been named Lady dOr. is a bay filly by Mont dor — Keepsake, and was bought at the Lexington fall sales from the Callaher Brothers" consignment for a nominal sum. She has shown more speed in her trials at the track than any other juvenile. She is credited with running a furlong in til1.-,.
