■ FOALS AT KENTUCKY FARMS Some Distinguished Arrivals at the Elmendorf Establishment — Cataract Attracting Attention. LEXINGTON. Ky.. April 14— Among th« foals lately arrived at Elmendorf Farm is a half-sister to Joseph K. Wideners Kentucky Derby candidate, Osmand. favorite for the big race to be decided at Churchill Downs May 14. It is a chestnut filly by Trompe la Mort — Ormonda. There also is a brother to Pagan Pan, Jeanne Bowdre and Shuffle Along at Elmendorf. it being a bay colt by Luke McLuke, from imported Black Brocade, by Neil Cow. Humble has a bay colt by Stefan the Great ; Duchess I .ace a grey filly by Stefan the Great ; Bendita a chestnut colt by Star Master, and Mometilla a gray filly by Stefan the Great. At Elmendorf Farm, also. Dr. A. J. Mc-Closkeys Agnier, by Clifford, has a brother to Drumbeat and a half-brother to Nose Dive, it being a bay colt, by Trompe la Mort. The imported mare Lamcote dam of The Hovel, by Indian Runner, property of Messrs. Dale and Dalziel, was shipped today to E. T. Waggoners Three Ds Ranch at Elec-tra, Texas, to be bred to Phalaros. H. Wade Harley, of Miami. Ela., the owner of several good thoroughbred mares now at James L. Dodges Hillside Farm, in Bourbon Iounty, is here to see them and arrange for their mating. Newt Gay, who recently leased the stallion Cataract from W. B. Miller, and has the son of Ben Brush at his farm near Pisgah, today stated that he has booked eight mares other than his own to him. The horse was not in strong request after his return from California, but among the yearlings at Creenwieh Stud there is a smart filly by him. and at Raymond Belmonts Belray Stud, in Virginia, there is a wonderful chestnut colt foal by him from a sister to Stromboli. News of this has been going around and that ia why breeders are again becoming interested. Colonel Phil T. Chinns new catalog of the 141 mares in Himyar Stud came from the press today. Harry S. Hart today said that Chilhoweea book is full and that only three seasons are available to Prince Pal. G. Frank Dunn, secretary of the Lexington Automobile Club, is publishing a book of tours of the Blue Grass region, which includes all of the famous horse breeding establishments.
