WINS RICH FRENCH RACE SPECIAL CABLEGRAM PARIS. France, April 18.— With fine weather prevailing, a large crowd attended the races at Auteuil yesterday. Among the spectators was the Prince of Wales. The Prix President de la Republique was won by Very Well, the five-year-old jumping son of Fribourg — Verroterie. There were twenty starters. The most popular result of the day was when Madame C. A. Munns Indigo scored in the Prix Pont Iene. He was a strong favorite. His owner witnessed the race from J. E. Wideners box. Victor Emanuels Eider, ridden by the American sportsman Al Davis, won the Prix Calabraise easily. The victory was the more impressive for the reason that it was the first time either horse or rider had been over the course.
