* I AURORA TURF NOTES I $ — and AURORA, 111., May 6. J. M. Cooper raced the two-year-old filly Philomela in blinkers in the second race, permission to do so having been granted I trainer C. Smith by the stewards. Charlie Houbre was an arrival from Lexington from where he shipped a large public I stable, which will be raced at Exposition i Park. The large string includes the following: D. Breckinridges The Huguenot, Love . Child, Kinsley and Brumfield, Dimple Dun-kie and Joy Taylor joinly owned by P. T. Chinn and C. Houbre ; Madam Emelie, a two-year-old filly belonging to J. C. Milam, Miss Chiniquy and Maroussa, three-year-olds jointly owned by Houbre and D. Breckinridge ; also a two-year-old filly. Madcap Princess, owned by Desha Breckinridge. The books for the coming meeting at Omaha, Nebraska, arrived today and were distributed among the horsemen. A perusal of the pamphlets shows several interesting features with a handicap of ,000 or over every day and the ,000 Stock Yards Handicap, which will be run July 1, over the 1 1-4 course. Horsemen shipping to Omaha are advised to ship direct to the stables assigned them by the Ak-Sar-Ben Exposition Co., and over 700 stalls are available. The meeting will commence June 1. W. Phillips will have the horses of the Derby Stable under his care during the absence of the stables trainer, J. H. Connors, the latter having gone away for business reasons.
