AT POST 2 minutes. Start good and slow for all but Agnate. Won easily; second and third driving. CAPORAL II. set a fast pace, raced AVISACK II. into early defeat and won in a canter. WAY-FAIR ran in improved form, began well and held second place safe, though he swerved badly to the inside in the final sixteenth. PHEASANT finished well and was favored by the going. HUFFY closed up some ground from a slow beginning. WHISKEY RUN was crowded back and was coming again at the end. AVISACK. II. had no mishaps and quit badly after showing early speed. AGNATH was off slowly and had no chance. Won handily; second and third driving. THORNDALE was kept far back to the last mile and then all but lost the race after taking the lead by being cased up after leading -over the last jump. JOB jumped well, was close up from the start and finished gamely after meeting with some interference when going to the last jump. ENDl-COTT showed the most speed for the first turn of the course, but was tiring badly at the end. QUATRAIN was unruly all through the running of the: race and was repeatedly choked back, then seemed the winner when he went down at the last jump. HIJO, racing in improved form, closed a gap and outgamed DELHI BOY in the final strides. The latter also closed a gap and finished fast. THE SEER was badly messed about all through the race and lost much ground on the stretch turn. SHINING LIGHT quit badly after showing the most speed to the stretch. LEGATION also tired badly and was cased up at the end. Won handily; second and third driving. FLIPPANT was saved back of the leaders to the stretch, then came with a rush through the final eighth to win going away. CHEOPS, under stiff restraint through the early racing, raced GOLD COIN into defeat on the stretch turn and raced well in the final drive. GOLD COIN ran well and outgamed LADDIE right at the end. The latter was under restraint to the stretch turn, where he met with some slight interference and was tiring badly right at the end. Scratched 142123 Architect, 112; 14149 Hat Brush, 105.
