COLUMBUS, Ohio, April 26.— There was no special attraction down for decision at Ben-lah Park this afternoon, the card being made up of a series of claiming races. Despite this fact, the various rt.ces were keenly contested and featured by numerous close finishes. Running back to his good effort Tuesday, A. Hills Bullet Joe wore down Jedburgh Abbey, the pacemaker, in the stretch to earn the verdict in the final strides of the third race. For the short end of the purse Sheran-do was hard pressed to withstand Liborios fast finish. It was only after a stirring stretch struggle that Young April lasted to earn a head victory from Fleur-de-Lis in the following race. The latter began slowly, but was rapidly overhauling the favorite at the end. Clarence Middleton saddled the longest priced winner to ever score over this course, when Bonsky annexed the initial race very handily and returned a dividend of 7i for the usual ?2 investment. Havana Electric came again in the stretch to beat the tiring Isosceles out of the second portion of the purse. Closing an immense gap, Janetta found clear sailing on the inside of her opponents in the stretch run and won the second race after a brilliant effort. Rotarian worked his way up from last position, racing on the outside, to head Carrie Belle for second place in the last few strides. A. L. Taylor sold Handclasp at private terms to I. J. Collins today. » .
