• i At Lexington One Best Bet — DODGSON — In the Fifth Race. EVELYN L.— ; !at lr | t J 1 , : I i j | J , I , l ! t | I j i I I [ i , , i l | - Six of the seven races on todays program Lexington arc turned over to the platers. The other race, an allowance affair for three-year-olds, has been named the- Iceland Hotel Purse. Seven starters have answered the call of the race and they will show their wares over the futurity course distance. In this race we are taking DODGSON as the most likely winner of the day. The colt has shown sprinting ability and his workouts of late would indicate that he has lost none of his old time form. The third and the sixth races are turned over to fillies and mares and both of the contests will be decided over the mile and seventy yards distance. MERIAYH K— MISS TOKCH— SISE DOLLARS. The consistent plater MERIWICK gets the call for the winners share of the first race. The gelding raced well at Havana the past winter, finishing in the money in most of this starts. He is meeting his own class of company here and lie has but to race in his best form to prove the winner. MISS TORCH may be the one to furnish the most opposition. She is a seasoned racer and this should help her in proving a contender. For the short end of the purse MINIS DOLLARS figures best. He did not take to the going in his first start, but with the track more to his liking today, he may be able to get in the picture. DOCTOR FRED— CHATSON— FRED BUELL. Three-year-olds will make up the field in the second race and they will be asked to contest over the futurity course under claiming conditions. DOCTOR FRED is picked as the probabie winner. He likes the sprint distances, for some of his best wins have been over the shorter distances. He is a fit racer, for he had a winter campaign in the South. CHATSON, on his race the other day behind Little Colonel, figures as the strongest contender in the field. FRED BLELL may be able to save the short end of the purse if he turns in one of his good efforts. XANI-IIAWAII— MT EVA— Ql EEN OF SI1EBA. The third race brings to the post a band of fillies and mares with NANI-HAWAII ap- pearing best of the field entered. She fin- ished in the money in both of her starts here and, on the speed she showed in those races, has to b? given the call to score in this con- test. MY EVA tired right at the end of her last race, but, with the shorter distance today, we look for her to finish strong. QUEEN OF SHEBA raced well enough in her first start to give her the preference over the rest of the field for the short end of the purse. BELLHAM is an outsider with a possible chance to get in the money. EVELYN L.— MARGUERITE WILLET— CELERITY. MARGUERITE WILLET may be the one of the band of two-year-old maiden fillies to get out of the non-winner ranks in the fourth race. Both of her races here were creditable and she needs but to improve slightly over those efforts to prove the winner today. She is getting weight off over her last race and this may be what she needs to win a race. EVELYN L, on her Jefferson Park form, figures to be a dangerous contender all the way. A race back to her last start should find her fighting it out with the leaders. CELERITY tired in his first start, but, as it was over a heavy track, it may not have been to his liking. He showed enough speed in that race to warrant him a chance to get in the pay off. DODGSON— BOUND TRIP— t A NBE KK A. The best bet of tiie day appears in the Leland Hotel Purse, the fifth race on the card, in the Kentu ky Derby candidate DODGSON. The colt will be making his first appearance of the year, but, on the speed he has shown in his morning triais, seems to have lost none of his old time speed. A race in his best style should bring him home an easy winner here. ROUND TRI P turned in a good win the other day and, on that race, figures next best. CANBERRA n eds but to turn in her usual eood race to be able to save the short end of the coin. VALENCE— ANGLE PLANE-LA DY STONE. The sixth race may be the spot for the mare VALENCE to prove a winner. She was a little slow in getting started in her race the other day, but site finished with a rush to land the show money of the race. She is in her best form at present and a race at her best should find her the winner here. ANGLEPLANE should prove a strong contender, for she is meeting platers of her own class and, when she is in a running mood, is always dangerous. LADY STONE may be the one to fill the three-hole. JEALOUS— DUCK WEED— STONE AGE. A large band of platers will make up the field in the concluding race and they will be asked to race over the one mile and a sixteenth distance. J. T. Lootieys JEALOCS may be the one to prove best. She raced well in her first start to finish a good third to Grand King. With the track more to her liking today, she should have little trouble in accounting for the winners share of the purse. The consistent plater DUCKWEED has to be given a good chance for some part of the money, for in most of his races he Is found fighting it out with the leaders. STONEAGE, on his morning workouts, has to be figured as a contender in this field.
