"TEX" DEAN AT ARLINGTON Lester "Tex" Dean, who will do the starting at Arlington Tark through twenty-four days meeting at that course, beginning Monday, June 4, is on the scene superintending the schooling of early racing arrivals. Dean says the mile and an eighth course and the new mile track are the equal of any in this country. He thinks that, in their present condition and as long as they remain fast, record-breaking performances will be the rule at the coming meeting. This conclusion is based, he said, on the class of horses on the grounds and those that are to come. J. Jamison, J. E. Alley and Bob Fruend, assistants to Dean, line up the two-year-olds every morning, the number for several days being about fifty. "Some are displaying unusual sp.ed," said Dean. "The youngsters impress me as being ready for action. Of colli ee. some are green, but not so many. They strike me as being well behaved."
