ISSUE CATALOGS FOR SALE One Hundred Yearlings and Horses Horsesin in Training to Be Sold at atLexington Lexington May 15 LEXINGTON Ky May 7 Catalogs for the first annual spring sale of thoroughbreds to be held at the Lexington sales paddock on the Paris pike came from the press today and were distributed to horsemen in the Blue Grass The sale will be held on May 15 with the afternoon sale starting at 2 oclock The night auction probably will start around 7 oclock It will be held under the auspices of E J Tranter who invaded the Lexington field here last fall and held a successful sale saleChief Chief of the consignments which will be disposed of on the fifteenth is that of the estate of the late Thomas M Murphy who operated the Golden Maxim place near Louis ¬ ville Eighteen yearlings will be offered for sale and they are principally by For Fair Only one yearling is by an outside stallion and that lone one is by Theo Cook from Golden Girl The mares represented in the lot include Arrow Wood Billows Eva K Golden Charter Gpldie Girl Josephine Weidel II Jou Jou Kharemaneh Kiva Lady in Gold Layol Lily Mac Mae C Miss Babe Pretty Mally imported Refugee II and Rus ¬ tic Gold Other consignments include those of the estate of William Dondas J L Dodge Phil T Chinn B C and R B Hickman Fred ¬ erick Johnson Breckenridge Long Mrs C A Marone James N McClure Jr Charles Nuckols Joe F Patterson Co H C Ragan L A Railey and E C Kirtley Jack D and Joe Rogers R B Styassburger es ¬ tate of D G Taylor R C Thatcher John E Washburn William Watson and John S Wig ¬ gins In all exactly 100 yearlings mares and horses in training will be disposed of and the right type of crowd to pay good prices for thoroughbreds is expected to be here in view of the fact that the sale will precede the running of the Derby on the seventeenth and many eastern buyers will be in this community
