TWO ENGLISH SIRES SOLD LONDON England The stallions Santorb and DOrsay have been purchased by the Hungarian government governmentBred Bred by Capt Charles Moore in 1921 Santorb is by the Gold Cup winner Santoi from Countess Torby a daughter of Morgan ¬ atic St Simon As a yearling he made 10500 and soon got this price back with interest as he credited his owner with 42940 in stakes stakesSoon Soon after his Gold Cup victory Santorb was offered to an Argentine breeder for 100000 but the sale fell through He was sent up at the Newmarket December sales but was bought in at 87500 The following year at the second July sales he was pur ¬ chased by Sir Alec Black for 52500 The price paid is approximatelyG2500
