EFJAYBE saved much ground, vas in close quarters in the stretch and tired in the final stages. BLOW FLY began slowly, lacked speed, but improved her position steadily after reaching the final five-sixteenths and closed with a rush. BIG BLUE raced well. BECKY E. showed speed, saved ground and tired badly in the last eighth. NELL KUHLMAN showed a good performance. CHICAGO BELLE closed a gap. MOTIVE lacked room early and, taken back, failed to respond when hard urged. The latter showed speed, bore out slightly in the stretch and held on fairly well. WILDOLIVE had no mishaps. TIN HAT held on well. PERFECT ALIBI was hard urged throughout. DIODORO, always outrun, showed a dull performance. OVERBOARD began slowly, lacked speed and was always far back. TROLL, never far back, withstood punishment gamely and was best of the others. HARPOON, close up. and well rated for three-quarters, failed to respond, yet held on resolutely. WISE SUSAN raced well under a hustling ride. WATER FOWL closed a gap. SANTA SOPHIA had no mishaps. PLAY BIRD bore out entering the back stretch, then tired and was eased back in the closing stages. OH YEAH was jumped on and jostled about going to the first turn and was eased back after a quarter. GETTIN EVEN, lucky to miss early interference and taken under restraint, permitting MISS ONINE to make the pace, responded resolutely and, racing into command, won easily. VANQUISH, also away fast and missing the crowding, was under light restraint for five-eighths, rallied mildly when hard urged and, while unable to reach the leader, outlasted MAKE BELIEVE. The latter, fractious at the post and away slowly from outside the stalls, improved his position gradually and closed well. CHIP, away in a tangle, crowded SUN FRIAR into the inner rail going to the first turn and raced well.
