GEORGE began fast, had the worst of the going leaving the chute but, responding to vigorous urging, worked his way clear in the first eighth and, taken under light restraint on the turn, maintained good speed while racing wide in the stretch and held the lead safe. MISS ONINE, a strong factor from the start, could not get up yet held on well. SOLUS, restrained early, closed well. BEAUTY BRIDE, under an energetic ride and a factor throughout, stumbled badly on the stretch turn. PENN came through on the inside in the stretch. ALFAYE B. lacked her speed and did not threaten. LAZY MARY, forced to race wide in the early stages but always in the best going, improved her position fast on the turn, easily wore down MOTIVE and drew away fast in the stretch. MOTIVE, improved, showed good speed from the start, was much used racing ADRIAN into defeat and tired, yet outlasted GAY PRINCE. The latter, a factor throughout, held on gamely. MADFINIS lost ground early and closed boldly after going to the inside in the stretch. HASOLA held on well. ADRIAN began fast," showed speed, but offered little resistance when challenged and was in close quarters near the end. TONIGHT moved up on the turn, but could not improve his position thereafter. NOAHS PRIDE, taken out of it, was given a poorly judged ride. The latter showed speed, saved ground after five-sixteenths and tired in the closing eighth. HIPPIAS moved up with a rush on the far turn, but quit thereafter. GALLOPETTE had a rough race.
