ON LEAVE, much the best and away slowly, was crowded back twice in the first quarter, came through next to the inner rail on the turn and, moving up with a rush, easily disposed of the others in the last eighth, winning easily. FOOLISH FELLOW suffered interference at the half-mile post, recovered rapidly and, steadily improving his position, wore down CHIEFS CAMILLE in the stretch. The latter showed the most early speed, but began to tire in the stretch, but held on well under punishment. LOYAL PRINCESS, hard urged, could not get up. FAUQUIERS PRIDE had no excuses. CHARLIE proved much the best, but was away slowly and in trouble in the early stages, went around the leaders on the stretch turn, then closed under pressure and wore down PATRICK CALLAHAN in the last stride. PATRICK CALLAHAN, away fast, showed good speed, raced CHIANTI into defeat early, but tired after drawing clear in the stretch. PRIORY, in close quarters, met interference on the turn, but closed gamely when clear and was going fastest of all at the end. CHIANTI, a contender throughout, tired in the drive.
