OPPOSES MUTUELS TORONTO, Ont., Jan. 16. Thorncliffe Park is the remaining Toronto track to place itself n on record as being opposed to the one-dollar mutuels, which, it is planned to introduce at one or more Montreal tracks this year. Seen today as he was about to return to Windsor after a flying visit to Toronto "Bill" Woollatt, general manager of the Leaside course, said he would sooner reduce the price of admission to Thorncliffe Park, if conditions warranted it, than change the minimum mutuel figure. Nothing doing with one-dollar mutuels as far as he was concerned. This makes the opposition against the Montreal proposal unanimous locally, as both the Ontario Jockey Club and A. M. Orpen, who controls the independent tracks here, are known to be I opposed to one-dollar mutuels.
