THELMA L., lucky at the start and, racing in her best form, drew clear after an eighth and, under restraint for half a mile, continued well under energetic riding arid held FINNATH safe. The latter showed speed from the start and held on gamely, but did not threaten the winner. FORGET NOT raced extremely wide in the early stages, was a factor throughout and tired slightly, yet outstayed RUNMAID. The latter began slowly. MY INVER, fractious at the post, made up ground after dropping far out of it. POLYLITH was away poorly and lacked speed. DON BENITO cantered off half a mile before reaching the post. PURPLE ROBE fell twice while at the post, got away in a tangle and was not persevered with. ULTIMATE VOTE, close up from the start, tired after rallying weakly in the stretch. ALFAYE B. quit. PARTICIPATE was unable to improve his position. TRYING showed earlv speed and met interference when quitting.
