Won easily; second and third driving. JANE PACKARD began slowly, but moved up fast after a sixteenth, went around ELLEN D. quickly on the turn and, opening up a good margin, won thereafter. ELLEN D., hustled into the lead on the inside, showed good speed, bore out badly entering the stretch, but raced resolutely when straightened out in the closing three-sixteenths and held second place safe. LADY COUVIN, away slowly, closed much ground in the first quarter, continued steadily thereafter and, coming through on the inside, outlasted SPORTING MAUDIE. The latter, given a hustling ride, raced a trifle wide and tired in the final eighth. HASOLA had no mishaps. MARLENE began fast, but soon dropped out of it. IMELDA showed speed, saved ground after reaching the turn, but tired in the drive. CHICAGO BELLE had no mishaps. DOREEN PRINCESS showed early speed. BOTTLED BOURBON dropped out of it on the turn and was outrun thereafter. PRINCE RENO began slowly, closed a gap steadily after reaching the closing half mile and, finishing in close quarters, just failed to get up. LAWFUL GAMBLE showed good speed, was well rated and held on well. PEAL lost ground on the far turn, went to the inside on the stretch turn and, lacking room in the final eighth, was eased up. HOBBY lost ground early, but found room on the inside in the final three-eighths and withstood pressure gamely, but did not threaten the winner. The latter, away fast, dropped back after an eighth, lost much ground on the turn, continued to bear out while closing boldly and might have been best. ETONARDO, close up early, dropped back after three-eighths. WHO WIN closed fast on the inside. PROSE AND POETRY was weakly ridden. PLUMAGE tired. BERNICE VAN, sharply taken across on the first turn, showed good speed and, well rated, was not good enough. THOMAS SETH held on gamely. COCKRILL could not get up. MASTER OGDEN saved much ground early and, taken back when in close quarters on the far turn, failed to respond when hard urged thereafter. SUN THORN met interference on the. first turn, showed speed under weak handling and quit in the stretch. MISS ONINE quit. ANNE ARUNDEL showed speed, was steadied along for half a mile, suffered slight interference when SIGN OFF quit suddenly and tired in the stretch. BLUSHING MAIDEN had no excuse. COLONEL K. was outrun. SIGN OFF was racing in an easy lead when he broke down badlv after going half a mile.
