JOEY BIBB SOUND AGAIN LEXINGTON, Ky., Jan. 19. Charles C. Van Meter, "convalescing from a severe illness, yesterday sent from J. L. Carricks farm to the Kentucky Association track the three-year-old Sophist and the four-year-old Joey Bibb to join the eight two-year-olds he is training there. Joey Bibb, he reports, appears to be sound again and will be given a number of stakes assignments for this year if he continues to do well. Joey Bibb struck himself on the right fore-foot as he was passing the half-mile post in the Latonia Derby last year. The colt subsequently "won two races, but the injury caused a swelling, which obliged Van Meter to send the .racer to the farm. Joey Bibb was fired, and the injury treated continuously. Mr Van Meter hopes he will train satisfactorily for early handicaps. Of the eight two-year-olds the trainer is handling, five are his own property, and three belong to Roy Car-ruthers. ,
