TENNYWOOD, suited by the going and quick to start, drew into a good lead before going a quarter, withstood a mild challenge from BROOMPATCH entering the stretch and won under urging. BROOMPATCH, a factor from the start, raced wide until entering the stretch, moved up thereafter, but tired at the end. DESERT BOY saved much ground on the turn. PRINCE TOMMY had no mishaps. JUXTAPOSITION was hard urged. BUNTING LAD saved ground earlv, but tired. .MASTER McGEE was outrun. PLAY BIRD, never far out of it and under light restraint the first five-eighths, saved ground at the stretch turn, suffered slight interference from BLIGHTER when working his way through between rivals nearing the final eighth and wore down BOBBY POWERS in the final strides. The latter began fast, was steadied along the first three-quarters and, holding on stubbornly under punishment, just failed to last. AREGAL, slow to get going, improved his position, gradually after reaching the final three-eighths and closed fastest of all. RAVE saved much ground, moved up menacingly in the stretch, but weakened in the last eighth. BLIGHTER had speed and swerved when tiring. ARISTOCRAT, under strong urging from the start, saved much ground and tired in the stretch. PERFECT PLAY, under light restraint for five-eighths, saved ground on the stretch, turn and failed to respond when put to a drive. ULTIMATE VOTE quit.
