JUVENILE COLT LOSES EYE . Goldblatt Hears Bad News About i Promising Whitney Youngster. Angkor, Now in Kentucky, Injured His Head Against Stable Post Before Leaving 1 New Orleans Track. LOUISVILLE, Ky. March 22. Mose Gold- 1 blatt, trainer of the C. V. Whitney western division and owner of several good thorough- breds of his own, motored to Louisville from his home in Cincinnati and arrived at ; Churchill Downs in time to see his second band of horses, which campaigned in New : Orleans, unloaded. Gilbert Elston accom- , panied Goldblatt to Louisville. He proved the star jockey of the Crescent City meet- ; ings and will ride at the Downs session, which begins April 30. With the exception of Jimmy Moran, all : the horses in the late consignment of the : Goldblatt shipment are the property of C. V. Whitney. They are the three-year-olds . Habanero and Jack B., which proved winners during the New Orleans racing season; Crazy Coot, Loop, Chene and Panshala in the older division. Five two-year-olds which never raced were in this shipment. They are Simon, Cynara, Supreme, Highwire and Angkor, a bay colt by Peter Pan Meetme, by Tracery. Angkor, St. Patricks Day, destroyed his right eye when he broke loose from his groom and ran about the stable enclosure at the Fair Grounds, hitting his head against a stable post as he turned a corner under the shed. Goldblatt brought the veterinarian, M. W. Tritschler of Cincinnati down with him to attend the colt. Angkor, according to Dr. Tritschler, will never regain the sight in this eye. This colt was highly tried and considered one of the fastest juveniles at New Orleans this winter. Goldblatt owned a good racer, Old Stone, several years back that was a one-eyed horse. My Dandy, which is in the handicap division, has but one eye. Charles E. Patterson is training a public ; stable at Douglas Park, which is made up of two-year-olds, with the exception of Sioux Chief, a three-year-old maiden by Cherokee Loyal Hannah. The youngsters are Tom Hare Jr., chestnut colt, by Sun Pal Hermoso; Palatine, chestnut colt, by Prince Pal My Colleen; Moroi, bay gelding, by Morvich Batanola, by Roi Herode; West Main, bay gelding, by Westwick Mantle; Swcepmore, chestnut gelding, by Sweep .On . Molay; Falsehood, bay gelding, by Flitter-gold Little Fib; On Rush, bay gelding, by Sweep On My Lady; Vested Power, bay gelding, by imported Vespasian imported Placentia, and American Joy, chestnut gelding, by Busy American Joyland. W. H. Buckner has a two-year-old filly which is full sister to the Derby filly, Oscillation, in his barn, among others of the Longridgc Stables lot. She Is a bay filly by Blondin Teatime. Slim Plckln is the name of a bay colt by Thunderer Miss Pattie; Lost Lcnora is a bay filly by Harry Shaw April Girl, which will bo prepared for racing for this estab- llshment,
