FAIRENO RETIRED FOR YEAR NEW YORK, N. Y., Sept. 24. Trainer James Fitzsimmons announced today he had retired the Belair Studs Faireno for the season. The colt will be kept at Aqueduct and campaigned next year. Fitzsimmons stated that the minor leg injury the colt suffered in a work before the running of the Gold Cup interrupted his training. "It would be asking too much to rush Faireno along for his next engagement, and so it was decided to retire him for the year," said the veteran, trainer.
