DON ROMIRO forced a fast pace under light restraint, wore down HOT SHOT and drew clear without hard urging. HOT SHOT saved ground and, holding on well, outlasted the others. DOLLAR PRINCESS, on he inside after a quarter, withstood mild pressure and outlasted PLUMAGE. The latter closed a gap in the first quarter, was restrained on the turn and closed boldly. Won driving; second and third the same. SHEPHERD BOY, away fast and showing speed, was rated closest to the pacemaker and, moving up slowly despite being forced wide by LE BRUYERE in the final three-sixteenths, wore down the latter and won drawing out. LE BRUYERE showed good speed, bore out in the stretch and tired after being overtaken. MISSIE, benefited by light weight, saved ground throughout and closed resolutely. COL. HATFIELD lost much ground and tired in the final drive. OLD HILLSIDE began fast, bore out entering the stretch and tired under pressure. DREAMY BELLE began poorly. LINE RIDER, away fast and hard ridden, showed speed, saved ground on the turn and, despite going lame, held oh well. SISTER MARY, away well and always hard ridden, did not threaten the leaders. SIS AGNES began slowly and was on the inside in the last quarter. TWILL had no mishaps. BAY ROSE, in close quarters shortly after the start, could not get up and quit badly. ISAIAH began well, worked his way clear before going a quarter, gamely withstood the challenge of BALLYGRAN and, continuing well under brisk hand riding, drew away in the last sixteenth. BALLYGRAN had to lose ground early, but was taken to the inside on the turn, rallied mildly when hard urged in the stretch and tired, yet outlasted FLYING CADET. The latter, sharply forced back on the far turn, was on the inside thereafter and closed fast. OUR JUSTICE raced well. LEVAAL lost ground and quit badly In the closing eighth. BAY ANGON, taken back repeatedly in the first half mile gained gradually on the inside in the stretch. EVELINE F., close up for half a mile, was shuffled back on the lower turn, then responded well when clear and, working her way up next to the rail, wore down HARAMZADA and outlasted SIR DEAN. The latter, probably best, met early interference, lost much ground in the closing half mile, but finished well. STOP GAP moved up with a rush, only to tire near the end. HARAMZADA showed speed, raced BLACK BULL into defeat and drew clear entering the stretch, then tired. OLAMAY had a rough race. SANTERNO also had a rough race and was weakly handled.
