MELBOURNE CUP WINNER Special Cablegram. VICTORIA, Australia, Nov. 2. The Melbourne Cup, of two miles, one of the worlds most famous turf events, was won here yesterday by the heavily played favorite, Peter Pan. He defeated Yarramba, 20-1, by two lengths.
