FLORIDA DERBY MIAMIS BIG EVENT 0,000 Added Three-Year-Old Race to Head Nine Stellar Features More Than 00,000 in Turf Prizes to Be Distributed at Hialeah Park MIAMI, Fla., Nov. 10. The 0,000 added Florida Derby, feature of the Miami Jockey Clubs meeting at Hialeah Park from January 19 to March 11, will be offered on the final day of the meeting, it was made known here today by secretary-treasurer James H. Bright as he announced the stakes program. More than 00,000 will be distributed to horsemen in stakes and purses during the meeting. Nine events will be offered and nominations for each event will not be closed until a short time before the date set for the running, except the Derby entries, for which will close January 21 at 5 each with a supplementary closing on March 1 at 00 each. Dates for the nine events with the time set for their closing are as follows: January 19 Hialeah Inaugural Handicap, ,500 added, three-year-olds and over, six furlongs. Entries close January 14. January 28 Hialeah Stakes, ,500 added, three-year-olds, six furlongs. Entries close January 21. February 4 Miami Beach Handicap, ,500 added, three-year-olds and over, one mile. Entries close January 28. February 11 Bahama Handicap, ,500 added and cup from Gov. Bede Clifford of the Bahamas, three-year-olds, seven furlongs. Entries close February 4. February 18 Nursery Stakes No. 1, ,500 added, two-year-olds, colts and geldings, Nursery course. Entries close February 11. February 25 Jockey Club Handicap, ,000 added, three-year-olds and over, one and one-quarter miles. Entries close February 18. March 4 Nursery Stakes, No. 2, ,500 added, two-year-olds, fillies, Nursery course. Entries close February 25. March 11 Hialeah Juvenile Championship, ,500 added, two-year-olds, Nursery course.
