| JAMAICA TURF NOTES a * Joseph Hewitt purchased at private terms from George Odom, acting for R. L. Gerry the two-year-olds Birdlike and Flowering. De Valera was shipped to Pimlico to fulfill hia engagement in the Preakness. Utopian, which is at Pimlico, will also start in the race. James Fitzsimmons will leave here Saturday morning to saddle them. Mr. Khayyam, owned by the Catawba Stable, has been nominated for the Wood Memorial. Dr. C. N. Darke, well known horse dentist, is dangerously ill at his home, Springfield Boulevard, Queens Village. J. H. Louchheim came over from Philadelphia to witness Wednesdays racing. W. S. Kilmer named Dark Winter and Sun Apollo for the Wood Memorial, to be run here Saturday, May 20. Frank Stevens has cancelled his jockeys license and taken out a trainers license. His first charge is Walter H., recently claimed by H. Kritzler.
