FIVE IN ILLINOIS OAKS HOMEWOOD, 111., May 23. Five splendid fillies head the probable field for Saturdays renewal of the Illinois Oaks, the Washington Park fixture for three-year-old fillies. They are the Shandon Farms At Top, F. C. Mc-Atees Jessie Dear; Sam Fursts Bright Bubble; A. A. Baronis Bamboula and H. P. Headleys Technique. With the lone exception of Jessie Dear, they last were seen under colors in the Kentucky Oaks at Churchill Downs and since arriving here have been doing unusually well. Their final trials for the Washington Park race are scheduled for Wednesday and, barring mishap, will be in superb condition for the mile and one-eighth race. Recent runnings of this fixture resulted in stirring contests and if At Top, Bright Bubble and Bamboula duplicate their Kentucky Oaks efforts, which brought them to the end of the nine furlongs route noses apart, Saturdays race may be one of the most exciting since this turf prize was established. Last year Suntica, which previously had won the Kentucky Oaks, defeated Late Date a nose in this Washington Park race.
