SWEEPRUSH IN LATONIA DERBY HOMEWOOD, 111., May 23. Sweeprush, J. T. Looneys greatly improved three-year-old and the winner of the Illinois Derby at Exposition Park, has been nominated for the 0,000 added Latonia Derby, one of the seven fixtures to be renewed during the thirty-one day meeting opening at Latonia, Saturday, June 24. Many others, including all the leaders in this division are reported among early nominations. Entries for this prized old event and also the six other stakes and handicaps close on Thursday, June 1. In addition to the Derby, features to be renewed are the Clipsetta Stakes, for two-year-old fillies; Cincinnati Trophy, for two-year-old colts and geldings; Latonia Oaks, for three-year-old fillies; Quickstep Handicap, for three-year-olds and upward; Independence Handicap, for three-year-olds and upward, and the Enquirer Handicap, also for three-year-olds and older horses.
