TECHNOCRACY, under strong urging for three-sixteenths and steadied on the turn, closed resolutely. IMPEL, away fast but unable to keep up, saved much ground on the turns and, closing fast, overtook DOUBLE NUGGET in the final strides. The latter showed good speed, but quit badly. MOONSAN tired. The latter, on the outside all the way, worked his way into the lead, but tired. PREDICT had to race wide from a slow start, but held on gamely. TRANSFORMATION had no mishaps. The latter improved his position and was going gamely at the end. PLIGHT, away well but taken out of it, raced wide and closed fast. POLVOS PRIDE quit. HERMIE ROY could not improve his position and lost ground. PRINCE POMPEY dropped but of it and raced green. HOME RULE had early speed.
